(e.g COM1)Īnd on the host name it \\.\pipe\dbvmtest On the guest name it what it's named in the device manager. Tell me the I/O range and i'll build a DBVM version you can use.Īlso, already get Putty ( ) on both the host and the guest and see if you can get the both of them connected and transfer data find the serial port, get it's properties and go to the resources page. Launch windows and go into the device manager. but i dont have any CE compile setups so you have to hane me over CE's debug builds.Īny result of launching with just 1 CPU? And how much RAM is in each system? Could be an issue with the memory allocationĬreate a serialport in vmware using a named pipe. so if you want me to check some specific things, let me know with somewhat detailed instructions. i have low experince in COM port vmware debugging, but still can understand what are you saying(hopefully lol).but if i disables "disable automatic restart on failure", strangely it just freezes forever instead of BSODing that i expected to happen. (How used are you with configuring serial ports in vmware (using pipes) and compiling CE in debugmode by assigning a serial port to the makefile and then use putty or another serial terminal ?) What you can try is rightclick the "your system supports dbvm" and only load the first CPU. That it reboots immediately is concerning, if it was an unexpected state DBVM should have frozen, and then at least several seconds before windows BSOD's/reboots with a clock timeout
